Lucien Le Moine Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Cailleret” 2016 (92 BH)

“Reduction presently dominates the underlying fruit. The notably finer and even more mineral-inflected flavors possess a lacy yet punchy mouth feel while exhibiting sneaky long finish that also flashes a touch of dryness. In this case though it seems more likely that the dryness will dissipate with a few years of bottle age.”

Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets is defined by minerality. It is a very classy wine, with lots of dustiness. It’s the wine in Chassagne that you can’t totally pin down with an easy description, and that’s why some consider it a Grand Cru level. Minerality is the main point – little white stones, lots of limestone.
