Forbes contributor Tom Mullen recounts the history of the wines of Friuli of in an educational article about the Collio DOC. He features Attems in the article, showcasing the winery’s expertise in producing some of the best wines of the region. His remarks include: “After visiting the hills, we tasted white wines produced by Attems. Some, such as the Trebes Collio, are aged in Austrian manufactured 530-gallon (20 hectoliter) acacia barrels which amplify floral flavors and provide more gentle tannins than oak. I would score the Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon Blanc wines 95 points and above on a 100-point scale; the Pinot Grigio is also a well-made, well-priced wine to start an afternoon meal with.”
